Our Mission

Legacy citation tools have become bloated with pop-ups, aggressive subscription paywalls, and slow loading times. BibCite was created to simplify bibliography generation for high school students, university undergraduates, and academic researchers globally.

By combining open-access metadata APIs (CrossRef, Google Books, Open Library, and Highwire Press meta tags) with instant client-side Citation Style Language (CSL) formatting, we deliver an accurate citation tool that gets out of your way so you can focus on writing great research.

Technical Methodology & Standards

BibCite's formatting engine is built on the official, peer-maintained Citation Style Language (CSL) XML repository—the same underlying specification trusted by reference managers such as Zotero and Mendeley. Every citation style supported on our platform (including APA 7th Edition, MLA 9th Edition, Chicago 17th/18th Edition, IEEE, Harvard Cite Them Right, Vancouver/NLM, AMA, ACS, and CSE) is compiled directly from validated CSL XML schemas.

When you search by DOI, ISBN, or URL, BibCite queries authoritative bibliographic registries in real time and maps the returned fields (contributors, publication dates, container titles, volumes, issues, and page numbers) into strict CSL-JSON structures before rendering both your full reference entry and parenthetical in-text citation.

Educational Guides & Support

Beyond automated citation generation, BibCite publishes step-by-step academic writing tutorials in our Citation Guides hub and our Citation Formatting Directory. If you ever encounter a formatting discrepancy or need assistance, please reach out via our Contact Support page.
